Extracellular vesicles (EVs) play an essential role in cellular communication by transporting proteins, lipids as well as nucleic acids. Evercyte offers the production of extracellular vesicles from customer-derived cells as well as from telomerized Evercyte cells as well as in depth characterization for presence of typical marker proteins, morphological characterizstics and in vitro potency.

General information

Determination of particle number and size: Evercyte uses nanoparticle tracking analysis (NTA, particle metrix) for determination of particle number and size

Presence of marker proteins : Evercyte uses western blotting as well as multiplex flow cytometry for testing the presence of EV specific marker proteins (e.g. CD9, CD63, CD81)

Morphology of EVs: Cryo-electron microscopy is used to characterize EVs for the typical lipid double layer membrane

Flow cytometry for determination of presence of EV marker proteins

Extracellular vesicles from telomerized Wharton´s Jelly derived mesenchymal stem cells (WJ-MSC/TERT273) and the corresponding non-transfected normal cells are characterized for presence of typical marker proteins such as CD63 and CD81. These data were generated by incubation of EVs with exosome-human CD81 beads (invitrogen) followed by staining with specific antibodies.

Morphological characterization of extracellular vesicles

The morphology of extracellular vesicles from Wharton´s Jelly derived mesenchymal stem cells (WJ-MSC/TERT273) was analysed using cryo-electron microscopy. Thereby generated data show that EV-WJ-MSC/TERT273  are characterized by the typical lipid double layer membrane.
