cytotoxicity testing
The use of standardized and relevant in vitro model systems is of ever increasing importance for testing drug-induced toxicity as well as the potential of drugs to boost cellular proliferation.
Using relevant and standardizable human telomerized cell lines, Evercyte offers services for testing drugs for a potential cytotoxic activity, whereby several methods are applied to determine the cell death mechanism. This allows to screen and rank compounds for further testings.
General information
In vitro model systems offered: Evercyte´s cytotoxic activity assays are based on human telomerized cells from different tissues and organs (e.g. skin, cornea, lung, vascular system, kidney, placenta). Using these relevant and standardizable cells Evercyte has established cell-based assays to test cellular viability, cell proliferation and cell death mechanisms (e.g. alamarBlue assay, MTT assay, LDH assay, FDA assay, ATP assay, Annexin-V / PI apoptosis assay)
Testing cyclosporin A induced cytotoxicity on endothelial cells
testing metabolic activity of treated cells / MTT assay
Telomerized human umbilical vein endothelial cells HUVEC/TERT2 are treated with different concentrations of cyclosporin A and cellular viability is measured using MTT assay. IC50 value is determined after incubation with cyclosporin A for 72 hours.
