3D imaging of RPTEC/TERT1 in microphysiological systems

March 14th, 2025, Vienna, Austria

We are pleased to share a new application note from Nikon, featuring the use of our RPTEC/TERT1 renal proximal tubule cells within an advanced Microphysiological System (MPS).

In this study, researchers utilized the Nikon AX R confocal microscope, which offers a wider field of view and high 3D resolution, to visualize primary cilia (~200 nm in diameter) of RPTEC/TERT1 cells within a collagen gel-based proximal tubule model on an MPS chip.

This work highlights the potential of MPS technology in replicating in vivo microenvironments for drug development, toxicity testing, and disease modeling.
